NEVER NEVER LAND

NEVER NEVER LAND (2017)
An audio-visual installation by composer Joy Stacey and filmmaker Julia Brown who both come from Belfast. A single channel audio version of this can be seen below. This piece was created for 8 channel audio with projection.

A multi-vocal, electronic soundtrack combined with prominent visuals of cultural identity, containing manipulated voices and stories from women who have grown up in a male dominated, divided and traumatised political environment.

The process of making this film incorporated a continuously developing score that changed with correlating visuals. We collaged sound and footage to work in a way that allowed them to mutually inform one another.

This piece was exhibited at Goldsmiths London and as part of the Barbican Young artist visual artist group yearly exhibition.
